چکیده
A total of 360 weaned pigs (DNA 241 × 600: initially 12.6 lb) were used to evaluate the effects previous sow feed flavoring treatment (control vs. flavor) and nursery diets formulated with or without a flavor on growth performance in 38-d trial. Pigs at approximately 19 d from sows fed 0.05% (Krave AP, Adisseo, Alpharetta, GA). placed pens (5 6 per pen) within randomly assigned 1 2 dietary treatments. There 14 17 replications treatment. Nursery treatments either control diet containing (Delistart #NA 21, GA) added diet. Feed preferences and performance of nursery pigs fed diets containing various inclusion amounts and qualities of distillers coproducts and flavor.
We evaluated the preferences of nursery pigs for diets containing increasing distillers dried grains with solubles (DDGS), varying in color, or high-protein distillers dried grains (HP-DDG) and the effects of flavor supplementation on pig preference and growth performance. In Exp. 1 through 5, diet preference was determined in weanling pigs adjusted to a commercial diet for at least 10 d, and t...
متن کاملInfluence of feed flavors and nursery diet complexity on preweaning and nursery pig performance.
In Exp. 1, 50 sows and their litters were used to determine the effects of adding a feed flavor to the creep diet on the proportion of pigs consuming creep feed ("eaters") and preweaning performance. Sows were blocked according to parity and date of farrowing and allotted to 2 experimental treatments: 1) litters fed a creep diet with no flavor (negative control) or 2) negative control diet with...
متن کاملEffects of frequent out-of-feed events on growth performance of nursery and grow-finish pigs.
Two experiments were conducted to evaluate effects of out-of-feed events on nursery and grow-finish pig performance. An out-of-feed event is a period of time that pigs do not have access to feed as a result of late feed delivery or bridging in bulk bins, feed lines, or feeders. In these studies, we created an out-of-feed event by removing the feeders from pens or preventing access to the feeder...

An experiment was conducted to examine the effect of the nursery feeding program on subsequent growth performance, carcass quality, meat quality, and physical and chemical body composition of growing-finishing pigs. Four dietary treatments were used in a 2 × 2 factorial arrangement of treatments based on diet complexity (Complex vs. Simple) and in-feed antibiotics (2,730 [+AB] vs. 0 [-AB] mg of...
